SOFT AND SUBTLE PETITE/AVERAGE

Soft and Subtle by Gabor is my favorite wig out of the dozen various brands and styles I’ve owned. The lace front hairline is extremely realistic. The hair fibers are soft, with natural movement, but they also hold up very well with daily wear. The style can look date-night glam or daytime casual with just minimal finger styling technique. I’d say this is a great “first wig” for a new wig wearer, but be forewarned that it just might spoil you for any other wig you might buy in the future.

I was not exactly crazy about this wig, but it had a lot of pointers that brought me happiness. 1) The length was perfect. Not too short, not too long that I needed to throw it in a ponytail for yoga. 2) The color (Dark Chestnut) is perfect. Despite what some reviews say, there is some red in here. :) I like some red in my brown. 3) My wig seemed to be a lot more curlier than others appear online. This was OK. I like curls and it wasn't too crazy curly. 4) The fit - it was perfect! Apparently, I really need petite sizing for my small head. 5) It is very natural looking - which makes me happy. It was an easy wig to throw on your head, especially if you are in a rush in the morning, which I always am - even now during this pandemic, with the daily morning meetings I have on Zoom.... I had a different wig that required A LOT of work before going out the door. (This might have something to do with this wig being too big on my head.) You could skip using wig tape, and it wouldn't be the end of the world and a potential faux pas! I never had the feeling of the wig coming off my head - which is nice. I didn't need a wig grip for this one. I have just discovered the roll-on adhesive for holding the lace front down - and this is a wonder product. The things I wasn't crazy about was the style. It was OK and passable and alright (but isn't this how feeling for regular real hair usually is?) The lace front got a little stiff. The life-span for me was 3 months - this is wear during the winter with the wearing of hats and scarves and turtlenecks. I live in Wisconsin. It gets extremely cold here. My ends are a little frayed now. However, all in all, I was happy and completely comfortable wearing this wig. I'm not one to put so much time in beauty prepping in the mornings - so it was perfect. I could wake up, have breakfast, get dressed and through on the "hat," walk dogs, return home, jump in the car and drive to work (usually late - hey, I try

SOFT AND SUBTLE PETITE/AVERAGE

It is extremely comfortable, very good quality. Darker than I expected, everyone says it looks great on me, It is going to take some getting used to. Wish it came in a lighter shad of gray.

I love Gabor's Soft and Subtle! I had bought Jon Renau's Scarlett a few years back, because I was torn between the two, but I trusted JR. However, the lace front (on my Scarlett, at least) was frayed and horrendously itchy, so this time I opted for Soft and Subtle. And WOW what a good decision! I can actually run my fingers through it; it sways a bit more than a standard synthetic (thanks to being hand-tied, I think); the lace front is comfortable, like the rest of the wig. My only issue was that it took me a while to figure out a color, and I ended up having to go for a dyed look, because none of their colors came close to the warmth of my natural tones. (For comparison, I'm usually happy with an 8/32 in JR.) These colors were all ashy (like they had cold undertones) though, even the ones not advertised as ashy. That being said, I ended up with the rooted honey toast, and the color is gorgeous, and so nuanced: all sorts of highlights and lowlights, and the rooting is a gentle gradient.
